Writing is a developing art form. You continue to strive to get better as a writer every day and every time you decide to crack open the laptop and type some letters upon its screen. You continue to do this until you arrive upon that stride of confidence in which you have found that voice in your writing that is a blend of academically viability and reflective of your personality.
It's the perfect expression of who you are as a writer and your skills as such. This feeling or style is something that we writers work for, and some of us find it fast in that of a few weeks, others take years to craft it. I am so happy to say that I found mine in December of last year. It took me about 2 and half years to discover it, develop it, and use it to express my opinions upon filmmaking.
With that being said, I am a perfectionist of sorts. I continue to attempt to tinker and meddle with my writing until it reaches the level of quality that is either sufficient or deserving of being read. Since that is the case, a lot of my older reviews are more than bothersome to look back at, let alone read.
I can’t stand the thought of any of my newest readers or any of my most accustomed of readers going back and reading those. While you may get a sense of just how far I’ve come and just how hard I’ve been working to create the best content I can for anyone who decides to put their faith in my opinion upon filmmaking, I’d rather you get the best content possible at all times.
In light of that sentiment, I have decided to create a new segment of my website called Crave of the Week. What this is and what this will be is a weekly editorial in which I will review a film at random almost. Some of these reviews will be rewrites of old reviews; some will be new reviews, some will be for movies I love, some will be for films I hate, some will be for classic films, some will be for more contemporary movies.
The point is that these reviews will have no predicated source of focus. This is merely an excuse to either review films that I am dying to talk about or to go back and provide a higher quality review for. It is quite literally what the title suggests in that I am satisfying my filmmaking crave of the week, whatever that may be.
I have accomplished so much this year in complete thanks to your support as readers. Flick Crave has soared past expectations and is surpassing every new goal that I place in front of it at a pace that is quite hard to keep up with. I cannot thank you enough for this continuing support that you have given me, and in response to that support, I want to provide you with the best content possible for your favorite flicks. So here is just another step in satisfying any flick craving you have, and I hope it is the first of many to come.
